Robotics projects for engineering Students

Robotics projects for engineering Students

We humans tend to build machines which make our life easier and safe. From Ancient times we are constantly improving our lives with the help of machines. Robots are no different than that. We build robots to do things for us in a faster and safer way. Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation and application of robots. From bomb sniffing robots to autonomous devices for finding humans in wreckage to home automation, many people are interested in low-power, high speed, reliable solutions.

Before we discuss any project idea, we need to know how should we select our project?

For selecting any project you need to ask some questions to yourself fore example:

Q1.) Is it beneficial for community ?
Q2.) Does your robot solve any interesting technical  problem which can't be solved otherwise?
Q3.) Does it justify its costs?
Basic components to decide beforehand:
  • Microcontroller
  • Sensors
  • Indicators
  • Control(Autonomous or computer controlled)
  • Communication(Wired or wireless)
  • Dimensions
  • Power
  • Locomotion

Different Types of patterns used in Casting Process

Different types of patterns: the types of pattern used depends upon the design of casting, complexity of shape, the number of casting required moulding process, surface finish and accuracy.  The common types of patterns are: 1)  Single piece pattern 2)  Split piece pattern 3)  Loose piece pattern 4)  Gated pattern 5)  Match pattern 6)  Sweep pattern 7)  Cope and drag pattern 8)  Skeleton pattern 9)  Shell pattern 10)  Follow board pattern Figure 1:  Single piece, Split, Match-plate, Cope and Drag Pattern Single piece pattern: This is the simplest type of pattern, exactly like the desired casting. For making a mould, the pattern is accommodated either in cope or drag. Used for producing a few large castings, for example, stuffing box of steam engine. Split pattern: These patterns are split along the parting plane (which may be flat or irregular surface) to facilitate the extraction of the patternout of the mould before the pouring operation.

World Top 10 Best Mechanical Engineering Universities Colleges.

World Top 10 Best Mechanical Engineering Universities | Colleges | Rankings Mechan ical engineering is the mother of all engineering disciplines. Mass, motion, force, energy, design, and manufacturing – these comprises the world of mechanical engineering. It encompasses the research, design, development, construction and testing of tools, machines and other mechanical equipment. Education from a proper well recognized university, college or school of engineering is vital for all the mechanical engineers due to the highly technical nature of mechanical engineering. According to the ranking of mechanical engineering universities, the top 10 best universities or colleges for mechanical engineering are MIT, Stanford university, UC Berkeley, University of Cambridge, California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Imperial College London, University of Tokyo, ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), University of Oxford and National University of Singapore (NUS). 1) MIT (Massa
